Through its affiliations with the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC), it is one of the premier academic teaching hospitals in the nation and a leading hospital for training health professionals. As a resident, I underwent thorough training in general medical, surgical, and cosmetic/procedural dermatology. There were also specialty outpatient clinics dealing with complex medical dermatology, Hansen’s Disease, immunobullous disease, and HIV/AIDS, along with rigorous inpatient rotations. As a senior resident, I supervised and taught medical students and junior residents, coordinated resident rotation schedules and clinic coverage, and managed resident concerns.
